Father Greg Smith, who died on Dec. 20, 2006, after a six-month struggle with cancer lives on — or at least his words do — in a new book of his homilies.“You Are a Voice” is a collection of 26 of Father Greg’s homilies.
Father Greg served 10 years as co-pastor of St. John the Baptist Church. A native of Oshkosh, he was 58 when he died while serving as pastor of Good Shepherd Catholic Parish, Chilton, where he had been since he was reassigned from Howard on July 1, 2005.
He also had served as co-pastor of St. Joseph Parish and Immaculate Conception Parish in Oneida; as associate pastor at St. Mary Parish, Algoma and Holy Name Parish, Kimberly; and pastor at St. Luke Parish, Two Rivers. |

Father Greg’s homilies are informative, interesting, and highly readable — the book’s large type also adds to its readability. The homilies both provide guidance and suggestions for living a better Christian life.
